It was Halloween last night. I woke up at 4:30am in order to sit around for an hour and then drive Chris to Roma St Station. After Chris was safely leaving the state I drove straight to work via McDonalds of course. Not only did I arrive super early, but i also stayed super late to make up the 3 hours I missed the week before. You would think I would have made up a whole week just that day, but i had an hour long lunch with the crew and an hour long nap in the afternoon. But gosh did I need it.
Landa and I had organised to go bowling in costume that night so when I got home I spinned around on the spot really fast and became…. superman-dy. Unfortunately Landa had dropped off the face of the planet and after trying to reach her for an hour I resigned to the fact superman-dy would not save any tiny people so I sat down and watched a movie. “August Rush”. It started off quite slow, but by half way through I was on the edge of my seat wondering will be a happy ending… or a tragedy.
One other bad thing about Landa dropping off the face of the planet was we had organised to go to Movieworld today. Sarah, my friend from High School also dropped out of going mid week with the excuse Dan’s parents were visiting, fair enough, but that made me sad. But with two people unable to accompany me the prospect of Movie World started to look quite bleak. I was considering going by myself when I was rescued by Oliver. He was the guy from a few weeks back that chastised me for talking about the weather. We decided to be friends which I am ok with.
Movieworld was awesome! We went on most of the rides bar some of the kiddy ones. They had three new rollercoasters. The Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster lulled me into a false sense of security by being lame at the beginning. That was when they took the photo, so I looked utterly bored and nonplussed. Then they lifted us up in a lift to the top floor and pushed us out backwards and then spun us this way and that and I was surprised, it wasn’t the best but it didn’t suck.
The lethal weapon was a rough ride that really knocked me about. It was the first ride of the day and I ended up going on it three times though. I’m a glutton for punishment.
The Superman we went on three times in a row. It had the longest line by far mainly because it was freaking AWESOME! It was a mix between a ghost train and a rollercoaster, the first part had a story to it. We were on a train and an earthquake caused the tunnels to collapse and along comes superman.. “There’s only one way outta here. I’ll get you out, fast… super fast….” whoosh! 4.2 g’s and then 1 negative g and whoosh and weee and woo hoo. Best ride ever. We lined up again for one last hurrah at the end of the day, but there was a break down and then with 5 minutes to go they fixed it, and our last ride of the day was the absolute best ride ever.
Now I am tired and watching “August Rush” again. Wedding tomorrow
